Growing in Faith: Grace Wins

faith

The core meaning of faith is what you put in your mind with certainty comes to pass. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing, which means "careful hearing as well as responding appropriately in obedience or action." The first example is of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1-2 where she believes the words from Eli, the high priest, and acts on them. A key verse is Romans 5:2 and includes going into grace and standing in that grace, then boasting of and resting in the hope.So faith grace and hope work together.

A literal translation: By way of Christ we have gained an entrance (and so need to go in the door) as a result of faith all the way into God's goodness and grace, remaining and standing in that grace, then boasting as we rest on God's glorious hope.

Abraham in Romans 4 rested in grace and was certain that God would "call into existence the things that do not exist."

The second example was Hezekiah in 2 Kings 18 and 19 when Judah was being attacked by the Assyrian army and Hezekiah come boldly to the temple to lay out the problem before the LORD, then listens to Isaiah's words and boasts about God. God rescues them by sending an angel to kill 185,000 men in the camp in one night.
